Cardwell Built was founded in 1999 by John Cardwell—a young, determined entrepreneur who believed that if something carried his name, it had to be done right. He has been proving it true ever since.
Over the past 25 years and more than 300 projects, Cardwell Built has grown from a one-man operation into a full team. But at its core, the standard has never changed. If it has the Cardwell name on it, it was built right.
More than half of our work comes from referrals and repeat clients. That is not a marketing statistic—it is the only measure of our business that has ever mattered to us. Families trust us with the most significant purchases of their lives, and we do not take that lightly.
We are a family driven company built on shared standards. Our team and trade partners are aligned in one expectation—exceptional craftsmanship, without compromise. From leadership to superintendents to every subcontractor on site, each person takes ownership in delivering work that upholds the integrity of the Cardwell Built name.

Founders & Principal Builders
John and Laura built this company together from the ground up in 1999. John leads every project with hands-on oversight honed over decades of craft, while Laura has been the backbone of the family business that has grown into central Indiana's premier luxury builder.
Camie Fischer & Grace Harris
Designer & Design Coordinator
Camie has been with Cardwell Built for over 10 years. A Purdue graduate, which we brag about around here. She takes your project from just a dream to reality — the best guiding hand and resource for every step of the project. Partnering closely with Camie, Grace coordinates design selections and logistics to keep each project running smoothly from concept to completion.
Art Reed
Commercial Project Manager
Art keeps business and institutional projects on schedule and on budget from groundbreaking through delivery. His subcontractor relationships and site discipline are a cornerstone of our commercial division.
Heeth Keeling
Residential Project Manager
Heath has over 30 years of experience in the construction industry. He tracks your project from start to finish, making sure we stay on time and run smoothly. His attention to detail on-site reflects the standard the Cardwell name demands.
Heather Gonzales & Taylor Reed
Office Manager & Property Assistant
Heather runs the day-to-day operations of the Cardwell Built office. She keeps the office running smoothly and payments on time. Taylor supports property management and office operations, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks from contract to close.
